watching this on my friend's criterion account, but there are certainly other ways to see this film if you know what i mean. i started reading wilderson's afropessimism yesterday, and so i find myself trying to visualize the dialogue between those two things (if any). what it means to be drafted into a war of a country that believes it can stake a claim over you - and how can that relate to being seen as non-Human if we are to take wilderson's writing into consideration regarding the structure of the system (and how to take it down)
